web folio 2- CONCLUSION


I have done reflect my knowledge about three topic that I mention in my introduction which are web-based employee learning and development, web-based occupational, safety and health and lastly about web-based compensation and planning. So, I hope all of you that read my entry could gain the knowledge about this topic.
As generally, web-based are important things that need be used by all the organizations. This to make the organization develop and follow the changing in the technology that happen speedily in our world now. Other than that, by using the web-based, it could save the organizations money and time that need to use by the employers and employees when manage the organizations things or activities.
So that, all organizations need to make their organizations have expertise in handling web-based, so that, the organizations can adapt with the priority of using the technology in our world now. That’s all from me, Norhazirah binti Mohd Yasin. Hope we all can meet again in this blog in future. 

web folio 2- WEB-BASED COMPENSATION AND PLANNING


For my next entry are about web-based compensation and planning. The things that I get from learn about this topic is about the web-based compensations are the organizations compensations tools that could make the organization to gather, store, manipulate, analyze, utilize and distribute compensation and data information. For every organizations that used this web-based could get some of advantage and benefits.
            Some of the advantages when used the web-based are the information’s about the compensation is administratively efficient. What I understand about this point is by using the web-based, it make the fast and easy process compared with using paper-dependent processes. But, there still employers or managers that more familiar and friendly using the paper-dependent because they already master in using that method. But, in contrast, for me, when using the web, it’s more simple and make the work easy because managers just need to log in into the compensation system, view the individual records and simply click on an approval for change about the compensation.
            Second advantage using the web-based are all the information or decisions that make by the managers about the compensations for their employees are not easily change by the employees. Its means, the security using the web are more guarantee. Employees can’t easily change the information because its control by the computer and only managers can change it. Employees only can overview about the web to know about the compensation.
           

Other benefit for the employers when the organizations implement the web-based compensation are the employers have opportunity to sent the messages to their employees in order to make the employees know about their variable pay performance target. So that, employees could understand or know about their current level of compensation and also know the expected target of total compensations that want in the future. This could make the employees motivate to perform in work to get the expected target of compensation. 
Next, by using the web-based, in aspect of web-based compensation application, managers could get know the all part of compensation that need to distributed, have chance to make recommendations about new formulas or measures and managers have ability to calculate directly any different compensation in different scenarios.
Finally, I prefer to all organizations to take note about all the advantage that they could get if they implement the web-based compensation and planning in order to make the organization more develop.

web folio 2-WEB-BASED OCCUPATIONAL, SAFETY AND HEALTH


One of the factor that be considered by the employees before choose the work are about the safety and health. They want themselves safety when do the job and when they at workplace. If they feel the safety and health are considered by the organizations where they work, so that, employees will loyal to the organizations. For me, the function of occupational safety and health are to make sure the safety and health of employees in the workplace are guaranteed.
            Many of the organizations make the occupational safety and health as the things or subjects that have the high priorities. This is because, when in the organizations that have the good management of occupational safety and health, that could make the good environment and smooth activities at the work place. For me, good environment and smooth activities can be develop because there have less of accidents that could be happen in the organization when organizations have good safety and health regulation.
            Other than that, by using the technology nowadays, organizations already used the web-based occupational safety and health when develop and managed it in the organizations. In this web, the content are more about to promote the occupational safety and health towards the organizations and employees. One of the content in the website is about the employees’ right and how they could make themselves protected by the act and by the organizations. It’s could make employees aware about their right. In my opinion, it’s important for employees to have the awareness about the occupational safety and health to make their self safe and enjoy when do their works.

            Besides that, I’m also suggesting that every employer also need to have the awareness about the web-based occupational safety and health among their employees and organizations. This because, in the web, employers can used to get the feedback from the employees when they have unsatisfied about their safety and health in the organizations. So, employer can take the action from the feedback that given by the employees to handling and control about the things that make the employees feel that they threatened when have less safety in workplace. 
            As the conclusion, I would like to stress that every organizations need to used the web-based occupational safety and health to make sure they can control and promote about the OSHA in the organizations and to their employees. That could defend accident from occur in the workplace that can give negative impact towards organizations and employees.



web folio 2- WEB-BASED EMPOLYEE LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT


Learning and development are the area that covered by human resource functions. Learning is important things that need be happen toward all the employees and employers in the organizations. Learning important towards employees because it’s could help the employees achieve and improved their skills and behavior like standard that need by the organization. So that, every organizations and employers have responsible to make something or arrange programs or systems that could help the employees achieve the standard.
            While for the development, it’s important towards both of employers and employees.  Development of employers is more emphasize towards development of organization to make the organizations more develop. Then, development for the employees, its more focus on development of their knowledge, skills and attitude.
            In technology era nowadays, the advanced technologies have brought the employers and employees to involve in system that could help in learning and development of employees in the organizations. As example, there have the system that known as web-based employees learning and development. This system help the employees involved and do the interactive learning by using the web. The learning that done by using the web are more attract the employees  because of  they do not have to spent their work time to go for the programs that organized by their employers and they also do not have to postpone their job or task to go to the programs.
           


Other than that, web-based employees training and development also can be done by the employees in everywhere and every time. There only need the connection of internet to get in into the system. Employees just need to key-in their personal information in the systems and they are reported to the employers as attending and involved in the system, then they can follow the web-based learning and development course. After done the training, the employees will be evaluated and they will get a ‘certificate’ as a proof that they have involved in the program web-based learning.  So, it’s also the proof that by using the web, employers can reduce the cost in aspect to produce the physical certificate.
            As conclusion, web-based employees learning and development are give benefit towards the employees and organizations. By using the web, organizations can reduced the cost in aspect cost for materials and cost when conduct the training and it’s easy to implement by the organizations. But the advantage are employees that not good in computer skills, they have difficulty to involved in web-based training or programs.

Hello everyone, we meet again to share about knowledge of HRIS for the second time because this is my second assignment handling this blog. So, I hope I can gain more knowledge in HRIS. For the second time, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Norhazirah Binti Mohd Yasin ,live at Pontian, Johor and I have six siblings and I’m the fifth.
For this entry, I will reflect my knowledge about three types of web-based which are web-based employee learning and development, web-based occupational, safety and health and lastly about web-based compensation and planning.

Conclusion




           As a conclusion, I have already made 3 different topic for this blog which are information and competitive advantages, human resource recruiting and staffing and lastly web based employee self  services. For topic information and competitive advantages , I get some knowledge about the useful competitive strategy that organization need to use in order to gain competitive advantages and technology important in this part.

          Next topic are human resource recruiting and staffing. There have a different between staffing and recruiting which are recruiting about how company make the advertisement in process to attract people that looking for the job while staffing recruit people to become as employee at the organization. Company using technology to advertise the job vacancy.

          Last topic are web based employee self services . I realized that this system quite familiar with aimsweb at UTM, so, this type of system not only use at organization, but also use at education institution.

Web Based Employee Self Services




           For this time entry, I would like to elaborate more about web based employee self services. Definition of employee self services  (ESS) is a combination of technology and organizational change that enables users to interact directly with their human resource data to inquire, review and act upon transactions in the workplace.

          Before there have web based employee self services in information system, every human resource professional in the organizations need to make manually and need to use a lot of sheet paper in order to record all the employees information that worked at the organizations. By having the web based employees self services in the system, it offer employee self service giving the entire workforce immediate access to critical information, helping to attract and retain the highest quality employees, and enabling more effective communication across the organization. As addition, when has the technology and internet, employees can update about their personal information anytime if there has any changes with their personal information.

          Web based employee self services are available and can be surf  by all employees and employers using the advanced internet and technology nowadays via company's intranet or portal, or through specialized kiosks, and may be confined to a company's private network.

                By developing web based employees self service, there have some of advantages and benefit towards the organizations which are :-

1)    Convenience
By using the web based employee self services, it make the work of human resource managers more easier when they want to update or keep the personal information about their employees such as about payroll, view the vacancy in the organization and so on. Then, its are convenience because employees and employers can easily access the web if there has the internet connection.

2)    Reduced human resource requirement
Before this, human resource managers need to get and accept the forms of  direct deposit that fill by the employees to get the pay check and adjust their deposit, but, after using the web ESS, employees can access the web to get their pay check and so on. So, human resource managers can use their work time by doing the other job that related to the organizations job.

          Lastly, one of  the disadvantages by using this web are can make the employees fell frustrated. This is because, not all employees are expert by using the computer and internet, so, it would make them left behind compare with the employees that expert using the web based employee self services.

Human Resource Recruiting and Staffing




          For this entry,  I will tell about the Human Resource Recruiting and Staffing. First of all, process of recruiting and staffing are example of process and work that important that must be done by all the organizations around the world. This to make sure that the organizations has their own employees and in their organizations, they has the skilled and knowledgeable employees.

          The definition of recruiting is the process by which a large number of prospective candidates are attracted by various methods to apply for the job. Besides that, staffing definitions is the process of determining human resource needs in an organization and securing sufficient quantities of qualities to fill those needs.

          Nowadays, by using the Human Resource Information system, in process of recruiting, there has a of system or information that could be used such as e-recruitment .That can be uses by the organizations in order to get the right and talented people that looking for the job vacancy. The other hand, by using the internet or online system in making the advertisement about job vacancy, organizations can cut and save their budget because they no need to make an advertisement at newspaper or other electronic media. Then, by using the internet, people can sent their CV just via internet, so they can save their time from need to sent their CV to the organizations manually. Online recruitment also give organizations chance to make a choice in recruit the best employees because organizations could get the biggest number of audience by using this system.

          Example of web that people can look out for looking the job are Job Malaysia, Job Street, my star job and so on.

          Other than that, employers can be used the staffing system in their organizations in order to manage their employees data and so on. Benefit by using this staffing system are can help Human Resource professional to sent or report about staffing level in the organizations to their senior management.

          But, by using the online system in recruiting, there still have some of advantages like there has too many candidate that apply for the job, organizations need to make few process in order to get a right employees for the organizations. Then, using online, it reduce the face to face contact because employer can make an interview session even though the candidate not in front of them. 

          In conclusion, organizations need to use suitable system in recruiting and staffing to develop advance organizations.

Information and Competitive Advantages




            In our world now, there have so many business organizations. Every each organizations, they need to make a special and different things towards their organizations in order to compete with the other organizations. So that, information system is very important and it also can help the organization and it could implement many of  the competitive advantages. Definition of competitive advantages is a significant and (ideally) long term benefit to a company over it competition and can result in high-quality product, better customer services and lower cost.

          An information system can be any organized combination of people, hardware, software, communication network, and data resource that stores and retrieves and disseminates information in an organization. Information system are covering all area in organization and example of information system that can be used in organizations are transaction processing system, enterprise resource planning , office automation system and so on.    
          Organization must know how to make and choose the suitable information system to make the organization implement the competitive advantages. In order to develop the successful and compete organization, there have some strategies that could make organization seek competitive advantages such as :
         ©            Rivalry of competitors within its industry
         ©            New entrants into an industry and its markets
         ©             substitute products that may capture market share,
         ©             bargaining power of customers
         ©            Bargaining power of suppliers.


There have five competitive strategy which are :
  1. 1)    Cost Leadership

For this strategy, its more focus to make the costumer and supplier enjoy the  reduce cost of the product. This strategy try to make the company to become as low-cost producers. But, not all company can successful become as low-cost producers because sometimes they need to increase their cost to make company can compete with others. 

  1. 2)    Differentiation Strategy

This strategy help differentiate a firm’s products from its competitors. So that, customer know which one are product us. It focus on a particular segment or niche of market.

  1. 3)    Innovation Strategy

This strategy make the organization to produce an perform a unique product, services or market. If the organization do the innovation, so that, organization could have the changes to the business processes.This to help company have ability to attract costumer to get well know about their product.

  1. 4)    Growth Strategy

The growth strategy are giving the organizations opportunity to advanced company capacity to produce product and services. It also can help in expand into global markets.

  1. 5)    Alliance Strategy

For the alliance strategy, it help organization establish linkage and alliances with customers, suppliers, competitors, consultants and other companies.

          As conclusion, organization need to consider some of strategies that already stated above in order to develop a success organization.

Introduction




          Assalamualaikum..

Hello everyone,my name is Norhazirah binti Mohd Yasin and I born at Hospital Daerah  Pontian . Now I’m continue my studying at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Skudai Johor and I am Human Resource Student . Before this I’m from matriculation and I take accounting course. Might be, very soon I will become as HR executive or change my career to become as business women.

I have already studying at human resource field for 5 semester and it takes almost 2 and half years. I learn more about people when I take this course. I learn about managing people, handling training program, law of employees and so on.

Then, for this semester, i’m taking Human Resource Information System subject. According to Kavanagh et al. (1990) ,HRIS is system used to acquire, store, manipulate, analyze ,retrieve and distribute information regarding an organization’s human resource. This subject are more to system that could help employer in organizations.
